Do you believe in coincidence?

Events happening at the same time by accident which apparently have some connection are termed coinciding events or coincidences. But is there really such a thing? No, I'm not going to tell you about 9-11 or Nostradamus' prophecies. I just think things happened the way they were supposed to be at exactly the same time it was set to happen.

I'm sure you've all had these weird experiences. Like missing the bus to work and you'd have to commute and then suddenly it rains so hard, you just get into the office really wet and you have this big presentation to make and the boss calls in sick and you're no longer pushing through with the presentation. Well that's kind of exaggerated. You may be just some unfortunate/lucky being. Hehe. So let's say you were just thinking of someone and you are on the process of writing him/her a text message and then as you press the send button, a message arrives. "Text message received. Read now?" Oh yes read it! Now! It's from that person. Amazing!

As for me, I have my own stories. Take for example this case. You're on your way to some place in Manila, and it's not some routine trip. And while travelling along a busy road, you see some familiar looking piece of vehicle. And you realize it's your friend's car. You knew it was his. And how odd could it be that it was the first time you've seen him in years and that it was his special day 24 hours earlier but you didn't even care to greet him. And there he was right in front of the cab you're riding. Coincidence? (So detailed, eh? And still, I am writing in the third person. Hehe =P)

The only reason why I'm writing is I want the world to know that there IS a reason why things happen. There is at least one reason but some may not be defined or you may never find out what it is at all. If you meet someone new in a random place you went to for the first time, then it happened for a reason. You were meant to meet that person but you don't know the reason just yet. If you just had a fight with your boyfriend/girlfriend and you bump into your ex or a special friend, then it was meant for you to meet him/her. Maybe you'll run to him/her for comfort. Or say in a worse case, you bump into your ex or a special friend who was with someone else at that time too, then it was meant for you to see that. The bad thing about it is that would probably hurt. So regardless if the situation/event is good or bad, nice or irritating, positive or negative, in at least one way, it was amazingly meant to occur. It has been written in the stars. It will surely happen however you turn things around. Much like Butterfly Effect.

There is no such thing as coincidence, only fate.

I burned your incense. I ran a bath. I noticed a letter that sat on your desk. It said, "Hello love. I love you so, love. Meet me at midnight." And no. It wasn't my writing. I'd better go soon. It wasn't my writing. So forgive me, love, if I cry in your shower. So forgive me, love, for the salt in your bed. So forgive me, love, if I cry all afternoon. -- Alanis Morisette
